There are 11 different shapes and sizes of forms. By combining all of the different forms together, it is possible to create a large and complex composition on the wall.
Botanical still-life panels are porcelain forms whose images are made out of real flowers and plants. I collect them from everywhere: parks, gardens, streets, flower shops. Once I have found the plants I need to arrange them into the composition and make the plaster form. It is necessary to do the process as quickly as possible, as the plant withers and loses its shape. The flowers and plants that make up the compositions are only temporary, but the porcelain forms preserve them in a way that is both aesthetically pleasing and durable. Porcelain flowers and plants are each unique, and I love observing how they take different shapes. It is impossible to create an identical piece, as each one is always different. I also enjoy the challenge of finding new and interesting botanics to use in my work, as it allows me to create new and unique forms.
